PIROCTONE OLAMINE is an effective anti-dandruff agent.  It differs from other known anti-dandruff agents in having relatively low toxicological values as well as formulation advantages. Adequate solubility in water and very good solubility in alcohol mixtures guarantee a wide spectrum of application for the formulation in cosmetics products.

Piroctone olamine is the ethanolamine salt of the hydroxamic acid derivative piroctone.

It is often used in anti-dandruff shampoo as a replacement for the commonly used compound zinc pyrithione .
